7-6 Weeks to Ironman 70.3 Augusta – Positive Reinforcement

7-6 Weeks to Ironman 70.3 Augusta – Positive Reinforcement

I went a bit MIA on the blog last week so I’m having a bit of catching up to do. And the first catch up I have to do is the Week 7 & Week 6 of my positive reinforcement.  For my positive reinforcement of last week, I wanted to choose an event from the training camp in Augusta – the swim. The first time I got into the water on July 11th, I would not get in the water…

Ironman 70.3 Augusta Training Camp

Ironman 70.3 Augusta Training Camp

The Ironman 70.3 Augusta Tri Coach Georgia Training Camp was one of the most anticipated events in my training calendar. Mr. FauxTriathlete had done it 2 years ago and I knew he’d benefited from it. There is more than one post that I want to write about this weekend (detailed tips and recon on the course, my personal experience on the course this time, other random topics that conversations over the weekend sparked). My First Puncture

My First Puncture

I had another bike “milestone” – a puncture. Or a flat, as it’s known here. A milestone that you never wish to have.       I was unloading my bike to take it to the basement for a trainer ride and noticed it. After all, everyone keeps talking about just pushing through and not whining. So when I bonked, I didn’t complain. But 5 bonks in 7 rides (one of the non-bonk rides was the Chattanooga Olympic Triathlon of only 26miles and the other was…

8 Weeks to Ironman 70.3 Augusta – A Tale of 2 Rides

8 Weeks to Ironman 70.3 Augusta – A Tale of 2 Rides

Another week goes by and the countdown is now 8 weeks to Ironman 70.3 Augusta. As part of my positive affirmations this week, I chose to shelve away the tale of two rides on the same course. The first ride was 6 weeks ago and the second ride was this past Sunday. At a popular Atlanta cycling route called “Silk Sheets”, both rides were 50 miles. The route is similar to the Ironman 70.3 Augusta bike course – a few sharp hills, but…
