Favorite Moments of the Tour De France 2012

Favorite Moments of the Tour De France 2012

I’ve been fascinated by the Tour De France this year, my first year of following the event. The past 3 weeks have been an amazing display of power, but of also other little nifty things that has me hooked.  I’ve tried to compile some pictures/moments of my favorite memories of the event. The first day I watched the Tour (Stage 3), without an understanding of the rules, the etiquettes, the teams, the sprinters, the climbers, the team leaders, etc etc;…

Another 26.2 Sell Out!

Another 26.2 Sell Out!

Big Sur Marathon sold out within 26 hours! That is insanely fast for a race that is slightly more ‘tough’ (In My Opinion, at least) because of elevation gains, even though it is gorgeous! The Mecca of all Marathons

The Mecca of all Marathons

One of the Race Director’s started the event after attending an Olympics marathon; and selected the Patriot’s day to celebrate the US’s great runner – Paul Revere. Its since grown in prestige and getting a BQ (Boston Qualifier) is a huge huge deal. This day, all records were smashed as the first 4 male runners broke the world record. 2:03:02 – An amazing time…

Lottery System for the Peachtree Road Race

Lottery System for the Peachtree Road Race

Atlanta Track Club is introducing a lottery system for their flagship 10k Peachtree Road Race on July 4th.  What does that mean to the FauxRunner? Of course I will “apply” and then hope to get selected. Although I am loving training for longer distances, the Peachtree is an Atlanta tradition even though its run sometimes in the sweltering heat of Hotlanta’s summer. The Peachtree is also  the first race that Hubby ran, when DD(4) was 5 months old (2006).  the…
