Wildlife Visitations on a Long Run

Wildlife Visitations on a Long Run

The Get Fit Atlanta group runs on the Silver Comet trail and occasionally we get to see some wild critters. Not as dramatic as the Armadollio, but today’s was a tiny little dead snake on the trail and a little bunny. Overall a good 11 miles as my fallback mileage (I love running “only” 11 miles!). Good average pace, but baaaaaaad chaffing on my bra-line 🙁 A seminar meant that I got to see people from other pace groups too!

"Embrace the Suck"

"Embrace the Suck"

My initial mantra to this weekend’s long run was – the less said about it, the better.  And then I realized that I was missing out a valuable learning opportunity. While runs like these are dreaded, they are the ones that give a runner a list of what-not-to-do, and how-to-make-things-better. So what went wrong? Well. Rather hard to say. Favorite Moments of the Tour De France 2012

Favorite Moments of the Tour De France 2012

The Weekender Edition – 7/22

The Weekender Edition – 7/22

The weekend started at 4:30am – to drive 45min for a 12 mile run. Yes, utterly insane, but completely understandable given how much I like socializing with my running group. On brutal hills and humidity, I was the sweeper of the group trying to make sure that the last few people made it fine (I didn’t have to do it, but  … that’s a new post coming up altogether). The 10 people who “liked” my post – all runners who…

Messing up a Pub Order

Messing up a Pub Order

Who goes to a pub and asks for chocolate milk (which I’m surprised they even had in the first place!)? A runner who has just finished a good session of intervals and doesn’t drink beer a.k.a The FauxRunner. That’s who. Ironically – the fastest runner in our group, and the slowest runner, me, asked for chocolate milk instead of beer. Wish sharing a common recovery fuel made me atleast half as fast as him! What is your favorite recovery drink?…
