Training Recap: Through Spring Break

Training Recap: Through Spring Break

This week was spring break and instead of taking the minions on a nice vacation, we ended up staying home because this usually supermom had a crazy brainfart moment and thought the break was the week before! We had no childcare either, so it was a juggling act trying to work, workout and watch the kids. Last year was much easier to workout during spring break with kids since I wasn’t working and I only had CrossFit to get to. …

Throwback Thursday – Signing up for my PR race

Throwback Thursday – Signing up for my PR race

This week’s Timehop app brought up the following picture and I thought it would be perfect for Throwback Thursday.  (I usually do TBT posts only on Instagram, but since I’m writing for NaBloPoMo November, I might as well write a short post about it.) 3 years ago, on November 13th, just a month after finishing my first marathon at Chicago, I signed up for the New Orleans RnR Marathon.  Why? I never thought that Chicago would be my one and done marathon, but…

Three Things Tuesday – Favorite Posts

The next in my series of Tuesday Favorites (I’m looking to make this a bi-monthly post!) and I’m excited to share some of my favorite posts. This awesome 30min yoga routine for runners from Runners World. I’ve tried a lot of yoga DVDs and some of my own make-up-as-I-go poses and try to target the usual problem spots for runners. This routine hits the sweet spot. I usually get through it in 20 minutes (because I have ADHD like that!),…

Three Things Tuesday – The One with the Epic Half Marathon

Three Things Tuesday – The One with the Epic Half Marathon

I love reading blog posts by some amazing people and have found plenty of gems. I thought it would be cool to share it and also to document it so I can come back and look at it whenever I want to. So with that thought, this is a start of my Tuesday Favorites post. (That doesn’t really rhyme. It should be Friday Favorites, but Friday is my Pinspiration Friday. So hmm… “Weekly Favorites”?  Or move it to another day…

All Things Pink

All Things Pink

This week was all things pink! Started off with the pink shirt I got from my group Marc. The picture doesn’t do justice to the pink of the T Spring wasn’t spring after all; with the need to cover up completely on a cold run. So out came pink compression socks. I hate wearing compression socks with capris though. Just weird! Finished off with a pink smoothie! Bananas, frozen mixed berries, brocoli, carrots, protein powder, chia and flax with double…

Shout Out of the Week

Shout Out of the Week

Regular musings and ramblings on the blog is interrupted to give a HUGE shout out to Ashley !! She is not a stranger to this blog, having been featured last year on her adventures in double-strollerdom. At that time in September, she was thinking about attempting the RnR Seattle Marathon. But she changed her plans. On Sunday, she ran her first marathon at IMS Arizona Marathon!  What an amazing journey this has been – dedication, motivation, getting through injuries, never…
