Koss Fit Series Review

Koss Fit Series Review

This post is sponsored by FitFluential LLC on behalf of Koss. All opinions, as always, are my own. I was recently sent the Koss Fit Series headphones (the FitBuds and the FitClips) to review as part of a FitFluential campaign. If you aren’t familiar with the Fit Series, Koss’ designers teamed up with Gold Medalist Dara Torres to create the world’s first headphones designed specifically for women, by women. Given my history with active headphones, I was a bit skeptical. Both…

All Out Low Impact HIIT by Cathe

All Out Low Impact HIIT by Cathe

As a (faux) runner, I have been looking avidly at different types of cross-training and strength training. Of late, given the constraints of time in a full-time working mom’s life, I have started looking into at home DVDs and have been doing the couple I have. I was looking to change things up when I received this DVD from Cathe. The ‘All Out Low Impact HIIT’ is part of the X-Train series. When I first got the DVD, I was…

What’s on Santa’s List?

What’s on Santa’s List?

What! Another Christmas gift guide for runners that almost every blogger is writing about?  Yes, sorry. ‘Tis the season of gift giving and you never know what novelty you will find.  Like this Oiselle ‘Fly’ Necklace that has been mentioned in atleast 3 other gift lists. Even though I shop and love Oiselle, I had never looked at necklaces at their site before.  I’m also sharing items from my wishlist/gift list here in the hope that my Santa stumbles on…

Brooks Adrenalin

Brooks Adrenalin

After Dr. Peebles told me to change from the Saucony Guide 5 to avoid the heel drop to help my calves, I’ve been looking for a replacement shoe (Which really is the most stressful thing, even more than finding a new hairdresser!)   Requirements Stability Support for mild-moderate overpronation Cushioning So far I’ve run 2 times with the Brooks – once with my kids, and once on the treadmill for 4.5 miles. Since the former is not sufficient enough to…

Shoe Tales

Shoe Tales

I’ve been running in Saucony Guide X ever since I was first fitted with a running shoe, 2.5 years ago. When Saucony moved from Guide 4 to Guide 5, they changed something very important – The heeldrop. The new Guide 5 has a 8mm drop instead of 12mm. Not that big a deal on paper, but to my poor calves, made a ton of difference. And Dr. Peebles advised me to change shoes instead of trying to ease into them….

Cherish your Mother Runner

Cherish your Mother Runner

When Mother’s day rolls around and my husband asks me what I want, I’ve always said that I wanted to sleep in, breakfast in bed, be pampered, … and all the whole nine yards. Now that I’m a faux runner, I never sleep past 6:30am, crumbs in bed are harder to clean, and  prefer a hard sports massage instead of an expensive back rub. As a mother and a runner, what would my perfect Mother’s Day be like? A long run in…

All things Red and Love

All things Red and Love

Since I’m quite the fashionista these days when it comes to running clothes, I’m wondering if blogging about what I think would be great for a Valentine’s Day run would give my husband a hint. “Will Run for Chocolate” Tech T from One More Mile. THE place to go if you love witty sayings on comfortable Ts that you can run in.  A running skirt with compression shorts underneath that does not give you the dreaded chub-rub(no matter what your…
