Turning Hardcore

Christmas Day – I ran a short 2miles while it was snowing. The Resolution Run 5k on Jan 1 – I  ran in pouring rain. This past weekend – I ran 13miles! 13 miles! My longest training run ever at a pace of 13:15 and half of it in slush, mud and melting ice! Is that not hardcore for a former couch potato?

  I received raves over this picture a few days ago. And I look back in amazement at my journey. My “normal” weight for most of my adult life – about 160/170lbs   July 2005 – At my thinnest losing 30lbs. Lottery System for the Peachtree Road Race

Atlanta Track Club is introducing a lottery system for their flagship 10k Peachtree Road Race on July 4th.  What does that mean to the FauxRunner? Of course I will “apply” and then hope to get selected. Although I am loving training for longer distances, the Peachtree is an Atlanta tradition even though its run sometimes in the sweltering heat of Hotlanta’s summer.
