Went over to the expo to pick up my race number. Seeing the crowd of people was emotional, to say the least. Overheard a lot of first timers’ conversations. Lots of emotions running through my head as I wound my way through the expo.

The hills kept coming and coming and coming, in the second half of the course. I felt the hills on the second half. This may be one of the races where I bank time in the first half to allow for a 30-60 seconds fade in the second half. It was an unusually wonderful start to the day. Temperature in 50s at the end of November! Unheard of! I had on cute new running gear. Course starts and end at Oglethorpe University (great finish party). The first 2-3 miles (for my speed) were in the dark. The little speed bumps on dark roads were tripping obstacles. Small but fun race with no corrals. The running in the dark in the beginning may have partly contributed to me going out a tad too quickly.
