Spooktacular 5k – Ms. FauxRunner

To beat off Jetlag from the 20+ hours of flight time, I got the entire family to go to the Spooktacular 5k even though only the older minion was planning on running it.

In hindsight, maybe it wasn’t the best idea to get her to race after she had taken 3 weeks off of running while in India. But Mr. FauxRunner stayed with her and he was very impressed how she kept going even when she was visibly hurting and was whining. He offered her walk breaks and she just would not take it!

She was so spent at the end and started crying in my arms. Until we bribed her with some brunch at one of her favorite places, The Broken Egg. She did outkick Daddy at the end though.

The chair massage wasn’t what she was really looking for, but she took it!

The little minion and I stayed around to cheer the 5k runners.

But then she decided that she wanted to run too. Luckily, there was the kids fun run of 1K that was after the 5Kers finished up. She wasn’t happy that she wasn’t even running a mile, but after the hills took her out, she was glad that she was doing “only” 1K.

This one has good form and great legs when she runs vs. amble around jogging!
